Chinese Culture Camps

Children journey to China through art, crafts, games, music, language, folk dance and martial arts. Students learn simple Chinese phrases, geography, folk songs, and Chinese painting. The optional additional afternoon programs include dance and martial arts.

Chinese Culture Camps schedule:

Mornings 8:30 to 11:30am
Additional afternoon option extends camp day to 3:30pm

Session 1: June 2 to 6 - Grades K to 3.

Session 2: June 9 to 13  Grades 3 to 6.

Camp fee: $99 per week for mornings only; $199 for full day (morning camp plus afternoon add-on).

Students bring own lunch; snack provided.

Intensive Chinese Language Camps

Two-week, half-day language camps give elementary school students a head start in learning standard Mandarin Chinese with native speaker instructors.  

The curriculum emphasizes accurate pronunciation, including correct tones, as well as practical phrases so that students can develop the confidence that comes from successfully communicating in a foreign language. The language lessons include numbers, greetings, basic etiquette, customs, food names, directions, and place names as well as basic grammar, taught through games, songs, role play, and fun activities.

Chinese Language Camps

Morning sessions 9:00am to 12:00pm.
Afternoon sessions 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Session 1: Grades K-3
June 16 to June 27 (2 weeks Monday through Friday) mornings 9:00am to 12:00pm

Session 2: Grades 3-6
June 16 to 27 (2 weeks Monday through Friday) afternoons 1:00pm to 4:00pm

Language camp fee: $199 (for two-week camp, half days).

Snack provided.

All camps held in the Regents Center building of the KU Edwards Campus at 127th and Quivira Rd.

Students may register for more than one session.

To reserve a spot in this camp, please download the 2008 enrollment form and mail the completed form, with a check made out to KU-Confucius Institute for the correct amount, to the Confucius Institute (see address below).
